Every once in a while I'll get a craving for something oriental. I know I could just run into town and pick up some take out. I don't know about you but that just doesn't taste fresh and as good as I have tasted in really good Japanese restaurants. It always disappoints me and by the time I get home my arms and legs have swollen twice their size and my stomach is doing it's own carnival routine. If you're a close friend you have heard me say it a million times....."The only reason I go out to eat is for the friends and fellowship. Because I can make it at home a lot better!"
I love to do my research on foods, so when I came across the science behind a good Ramen Noodle, I just had to share it with you! The base to this noodle is high in alkaline. That is why when you cook the noodles in the flavored broth it soaks up the flavor as well as the coloring. Amazing huh? It's really hard but if you have a culturally diverse grocery store, look into purchasing something else than Marushan or Cup-o-Noodle Ramens. These were great for when we were younger and in college. But we're big kids now! We can eat better than we used to!
We can make foods like my Sweet and Spicy Oriental Noodles. This recipe is easy and quick to make. It will make your family think you're a great chef. But remember you can't tell them our secrets till they're old enough and having children of their own! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
